“Deep Canvassing Unleashed: Persuade Hearts, Transform Minds

Powering Progress Education Series

Deep canvassing is a proven, research-based method for structuring conversations that persuade people, shift underlying emotions, and drive change in a lasting way. Instead of focusing on the facts, figures, and policies that you think should convince anyone, you start with the person in front of you, take the time to understand their experience, ask questions, and move forward with shared experience.

If that sounds like a simple framework, it is!

The best part of deep canvassing is that it is an understandable concept that takes time and practice to master — but when done right, it’s highly effective. And you get a chance to learn from the experts on just how to do it.

The Deep Canvass Institute’s mission is to “train volunteers and organizations how to listen without judgment, share heartfelt stories that bind us together, and process conflicts in ways that result in cultural, social, and political shifts.” They have trained thousands of volunteers across different issues and initiatives in how to have impactful conversations that move persuadable minds.

This is being presented as part four of Powering Progress’ five-part Persuasion To Power Education Series — our chance to provide you with access to the experts who can prepare you with the tools, tips, and tactics you’ll need to convince persuadable audiences this year.
