What’s Real & What’s Not”

January’s 2023 Fiscal and Economic Issues Discussion of the US Economic Facts’

Catch up on this year’s economic news and share your thoughts.

Good news in recent economic data – it looks like we are heading for a soft landing:

– The first estimate of 3rd quarter real GDP growth is 4.9%; second estimate is 5.2% annualized growth rate. Third estimate is also 4.9%.

– looking pretty good. non-farm payrolls increased by 216,000

– in December the unemployment rate was 3.7%

– in December Wages up 4.3% since 12/22

– The twelve month CPI has declined from 9.1% last June (2022) to 3.1%

in DECEMBER 2023. David and Karl will be updating the fiscal and economic data over the next week -Come discuss the current state of the US economy.

Bottom line is that the data through December show a growing economy that is still strong. Potential head winds include a future government shutdown, and the resumption of student loan Click Here to link to Videos of our December meeting on the NWSOFA YouTube Channel
