July 14, 2014 – Minimum Wage Day of Action

Facts and Additional Information:
Raising the minimum wage isn’t just the right ting to do for workers, it would also boost our economy and our community. Despite support from 7 out of 10 Americans – including President Obama, members of Congress and state and local officials – lawmakers have refused to raise the minimum wage.

 

August 1, 2014 – Comprehensive Immigration Reform Day of Action

Facts and Additional Information:
Inaction on immigration reform has now cost the United States more than $12 billion – a cost that’s growing by $37 million every day. Join OFA volunteers for a conversation about how our community can keep the pressure on lawmakers to act.

 

August 4, 2014 – Affordable Care Act Day of Action

Facts and Additional Information:
Thanks to a lot of hard work, more than 8 million people signed up for coverage on the health insurance marketplace. That’s something to celebrate – to mark President Obama’s birthday, OFA supporters are holding a party in our community, to celebrate the millions of Americans whose lives are better because of health care reform. We’ll also take part in a training to learn more about how to share our personal stories through traditional and social media.
