December 12, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Chicago Survivors, NWSOFA Indivisible Social Justice Alliance, Moms Demand Action, Everytown Survivor Network and One Aim Illinois Present the 9th National Vigil for All Victims and Survivors of Gun Violence

Arlington Heights, IL 60005
When: Sunday, December 12, 7:00 PM

What can be done to support the survivors of gun violence? If you have ever asked yourself that question then we hope you will join us – for the 9th National Vigil for All Victims and Survivors of Gun Violence on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 7 pm on Zoom.

This will be a Virtual Interfaith Vigil that will include video remarks by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Illinois State Senator Robert Peters and also remarks by survivor speakers Rev. Sharon Risher, Mary Long and Valerie Burgest and interfaith speakers, including Rev. Rob Schenck, Saadia Qureshi, Rob Ore and Satnaam Singh Mago, who will all share a similar message to encourage and bring hope and peace to survivors of gun violence. The message that will be shared is this:

“We see you. We support you. You are not alone.”

Please join us and stand with all the families in Chicago, the suburbs, in Illinois and across the country impacted by gun violence. This holiday season is a difficult time for these survivors and their families. It is a time where an empty chair bears heavily in the hearts of many of our fellow citizens. Let them know that they are not alone, that we see them, we support them and we continue to #HONORWITHACTION the loved ones who have been wounded or killed as a result of gun violence.

This interfaith virtual vigil is also part of a nationwide tribute – in partnership with the Newtown Action Alliance Foundation and its partners nationwide – and is designed to shine a light on gun violence and to honor all victims and survivors.

By December 2021, the 9th anniversary of the Newtown shootings, more than 900,000 Americans will have been injured or killed as a result of gun violence. And we will reach close to 850 deaths in Chicago and will lose 45,000 across the country in 2021. We must continue to shine a light on the epidemic of gun violence in our nation until these gun deaths and injuries are reduced.

Please join us this Sunday, December 12th on Zoom. Plan on joining us at 6:55 pm for the 7 pm start by clicking on the Zoom link which will be sent by email to you once you complete the RSVP. Hope to see you there!
