NWSOFA GVP Partner Event: Response to Gun Violence Prison, Jail & Re-entry Connection Breakfast

November 2, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Early on, in prison, I learned that most people looked exactly like me.

“They came from poor neighborhoods and from families overwhelmed by the struggles of day-to-day life, not to mention a lack of access to employment and education.  Most of my fellow inmates had personally experienced violence and trauma.  And like me, their fight-or-flight instinct was on overdrive.” Eddie Bocanegra

Join us this Saturday, November 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Willow Creek South Barrington (Room B205/7, 67 E. Algonquin Rd. South Barrington, IL) for a very special Prison, Jail & Re-entry Connection Breakfast.  Guest speaker and Senior Director of Heartland Alliance, Eddie Bocanegra, will be sharing his story and the work of READI Chicago, an initiative designed to address the needs of individuals who are most vulnerable to violence involvement and for whom traditional service models often don’t work.

Afterwards, join us as we pack 100 comfort gift bags for gun violence survivors–the moms and family members who have lost a child to gun violence in the Chicagoland area.

Remember to invite a friend for this exceptional opportunity to learn and give back!

BTW–we’ll be in Room B205/207.  Come in the “B” door and turn left!

See you Saturday!

Warmly,

Anne Rand
