NWSOFA Indivisible Fiscal and Economic Issues April Zoom Meeting

The NWSOFA Fiscal and Economic Issues group will meet on Tuesday, April 11th at 7 pm. The Zoom room will open by 6:50 pm. Come join us, catch up on this year’s economic news and share your thoughts.
David and Karl will be updating the fiscal and economic data and will present it at our next meeting. Come discuss the current state of the US economy. March employment data will be reported on Friday, April 7th.
In recent months, the employment reports have shown continued solid job gains combined with slightly declining inflation. Total payroll jobs are the most ever. The unemployment rate was 3.46% in February.
Twelve month CPI inflation for February was 6.0%, down from 9.1% in June. Twelve month PCE inflation for February was 5.0%.
4th quarter real GDP growth was revised down from 2.9% to 2.6%.
Bottom line is that the data through February showed a slowing economy that was still strong.
