Our September Fiscal and Economic Issues meeting will be back in Arlington Heights on September 16 at 7 p.m. at the GPAD office. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. ———– Fiscal year (FY) 2019 ends on September 30th. If Congress doesn’t pass (and President Trump doesn’t sign) appropriations bills for FY 2020 by then (or at least continuing resolutions), we face another partial government shutdown. We will discuss the status of these appropriations bills at our September meeting and any actions we want to take to influence these bills. ————– We will also discuss the fiscal and economic numbers, e.g. job growth, real GDP growth, inflation, projected FY 2019 budget deficit, etc. We anticipate that the Census Bureau’s report on 2018 data will be available, including real median household incomes and real earnings for individuals. ————— I look forward to another good discussion this month.
