David and Karl will give an update on the US economy and the fiscal (budget deficit) situation.

The US is in a recession that started in February 2020. Real GDP growth is negative since President Trump took office.

Despite decent job recoveries from May-August, the US economy is still down over 10 million jobs versus February;  4.7 million jobs since President Trump took office.

The fiscal year 2020 budget deficit is projected to exceed $3 trillion, more than twice the previous record set in President Bush’s last budget year.

We will also discuss why Illinois’ Fair Tax Amendment is good for Illinois and most Illinois residents.
