- Samuel has organized the sit-in at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. that will begin Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, calling for Congress to vote on the Assault Weapons Ban! In 2018, Samuel’s cousin and best friend, Alex Schachter, was killed while attending school in Parkland, Florida, in the mass shooting that gave rise to the March For Our Lives movement.
- Samuel has become a tireless advocate for gun safety reform and the banning of assault weapons.
- On the eve of the DC Gun Violence Survivor Sit-In, Samuel will join us to tell us his story, to preview the week long sit-in, and to let us know what we can do in Illinois to support his efforts.
