You’re Invited!

Dear Indivisible members of Illinois,

We are thrilled to invite you to our upcoming statewide convening on May 11th, with a leader breakfast on May 12th, 2023 at the State House Inn in Springfield, Illinois. We hope you will save the date and sign up now to reserve your space.

This is a unique opportunity for local Indivisible members and activists to come together, share ideas, and collaborate on the issues that matter most to our communities. We are excited to announce that we will be hearing from local leaders across the state who are running for our executive board. This will be a chance for you to hear from them directly and ask any questions you may have. Please note that all candidates running for the executive council are asked to submit a 2-4 minute video introduction for members to see. We will play videos of those not able to attend the convening.

In addition to our executive board candidates, we have a few exciting special speakers that we will be announcing in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to share more details with you. The details of the event are below:

Registrations to attend the convening are open officially as of today! Registrations will be open until May 5th as we need to give an accurate headcount to the hotel’s staff for catering purposes. Please click this sign up link and fill out at your earliest convenience.

We also want to hear from you about what excites you and moves your local activist group into the streets in protest, action and camaraderie. We will have multiple sessions of trainings and speakers!

In the first session we are speaking about why it is important today to be a part of Indivisible here in the great state of Illinois, and our hopes for the future of our movement.

In our second session we will learn some techniques on how to build a relationship with, and how to work with our Democrat Members of Congress, while also learning tactics on how to push back against our Republican Members of Congress.

In our third session we are presenting how you approach building a successful event in your area. We will hear from both urban and rural leaders on their experience in successful recruiting, advertisement, protest, and goal setting techniques. We will also be joined by a director from Indivisible National who will be speaking about how groups can join together with the National organization during key weeks of action!

We understand that attending the convening may require travel and we recommend that if you are able to come out on Wednesday the 10th of May that you do so to ensure that you are able to join us right at 11:30am.
