We are holding a screening of the new doc “BAD FAITH” as part of the Keeping the Faith campaign. The film directly connects to our commitment to preaching advocacy and rejecting religious nationalist political movements that are undermining democracy ahead of the election.

NWSOFA is hosting a screening of the documentary BAD FAITH,

a searing new film that highlights the history behind the rise of Christian Nationalism in the U.S., and the threat it poses to our democracy.

US Economy continues on it’s Strong but not to Strong Economic trend… Stock Market Agrees .. Hitting Records.. the Biden administration has “unchained” this “not to hot nor not to cold economy for 40 straight months” ..

_Special new areas of discussion will continue in April: 1)Biden economy vs. Trump economy (pre Covid), 2) Immigration contribution to economy and 3) CBO latest 10-year forecast_

Latest highlights … economic information to discuss at our May meeting:

– New jobs were +175,000 in April job growth, March was revised up +12,000 and February revised down by -34,000 as reported in the May (April) BLS report

– New Unemployment rate holds under 4% @3.9% reported in the May BLS report

– PPI rises .005 (.5%) in April.. for 12 months is up 2.2% (.0022)

– Average hourly earnings for all employees for last 12 months reported in the April BLS = 4.1%

– The labor force participation rate held at 62.7 percent in April

Indivisibles across Illinois are coming to Palatine to call out corruption on SCOTUS! 5/22nd @4-5:30

Justice should not be for sale, but some MAGA justices on the Supreme Court have been caught accepting lavish gifts and luxury trips from billionaire Republican donors. And these donors are getting exactly what they wanted: ultraconservative decisions that roll back our fundamental rights, like overturning Roe v. Wade, gutting the Voting Rights Act, and allowing for LGBTQ+ discrimination.

It’s time we investigated this corruption and held these justices accountable.

We need Illinois Senator and Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee Dick Durbin to do everything in his power to investigate corruption on the court. He’s taken some initial steps, but we need him to go even further.

Indivisble’s IL SCOTUS Corruption Caravan is hitting the road and holding rallies to call on Senator Durbin to act now.

Our GVP team will be focusing on very important legislation in Illinois both those on the Legislators floor and in Committee.

In addition to providing information about these bills, the GVP Leads will let us know what we can do to help get the bills passed in the Illinois House and Senate..
