a Persuasion to Power series

Loretta Ross – will speak on Communicating with those of different views- she is in the The Persuaders Book

Everyone we speak to, whether neighbor, friend, community member or family, carries a slightly different set of values and expectations.

In organizing conversations, it’s up to us to listen well and make strategic, thoughtful assessments of how to move our goals forward by taking into account the other person’s responses.

Join us and veteran activist Loretta Ross (featured in The Persuaders!) for a conversation on how to assess and adjust our communication approaches based on the person we’re talking to and how closely they already align with our goals.

“Supreme Court’s Unchecked Might, Wielding Vast Power with little recourse”

SCOTUS Impact is Immense

The US supreme court has vast power to impact our government.

They can override laws passed by our democratically elected congress, dismantle regulations implemented by our elected president’s administration, and there is little recourse when they do so. As such, their impact on our democracy can be immense.

How do cases come to their attention?

How do they decide what cases to take up?

What methods do they use to make their determinations?

What have been the recent results of their deliberations?

How can we reform this court, so that it supports our democracy, instead of damaging it?

Please join us for this interesting discussion.

We need to show our Members of Congress that there is overwhelming grassroots support for our progressive priorities, join us.

Join us for a DISTURBING discussion on SAFE RAIL TRANSPORT,

including Nuclear materials

Please Attend the NWSOFA Climate February 27@7pm meeting. The topic is safe rail transport and specifically Nuclear materials. There’s lots of other bad stuff too, so a good topic.

The subject and speaker is brought to you by a coalition of NWSOFA-Indivisible and La Coalition Rail Safety Campaign. NWSOFA, is concerned about the potential impact of radioactive waste on our environment – air, water, soil, and public health and La Coalition Rail Safety Campaign is concerned about the nature of toxic chemicals carried by rail freight, which includes radioactive waste.

Our speaker for Tuesday night is Dave Kraft who is a safe-energy/anti-nuclear advocate, and co-founder of NEIS, currently serving as its director.

Kraft co- founded NEIS with seven other activists in 1981, to provide the public with credible information about the hazards and effects of nuclear power and waste; and the viable alternatives to replace them.
