Cameron Macaw-Hennick Sr. Regional Organizer Indivsible, IA, IL, MO and Rose Colacino Co-Lead of Indivsilble IL have announced New Sub Groups:

Moving forward Indivisible Illinois will be splitting into two separate groups focused on effecting great changes across the state of Illinois. Our operations will be divided along I-80, with Chapters and members above I-80 in our Upstate team and everything below that in our Downstate team.  NWSOFA-Indivsible will be a critical part of the Indivisible UpState Illinois Group as an independent group, with support from both our Upstate, Regional and National Indivsible team!

• Abortion has long been a deeply polarizing issue. With the leak of a U.S. Supreme Court draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade, the issue will be top of mind for 2022 midterm voters, Axios

• Around half of Americans (48%) see gun violence as a very big problem in the country today, according to a Pew Research Center survey

• The January 6 hearings – which have been extremely well executed – have put Donald Trump’s election lies on trial. And GOP candidates running on those lies are less palatable to swing voters, Sarah Longwell, a political strategist

How Champaign County Flipped From Red To Blue, And One Candidate Who Reaped The Benefits

Prior to the 2018 election, all of Champaign County’s countywide offices were held by Republicans, except for State’s Attorney. In 2018, all of the seats that were up for election flipped to Democrats. In 2020, the rest of the offices flipped, except for Coroner.

How did that happen? Not by itself. A lot of volunteers worked very hard.
