October Surprise is NO Surprise!
NWSOFA’s September was pivotal as we combined two huge issue events with full chapter meetings. Those meetings with the Fiscal Team preceeded a MTA National Speaker on “Money and Politics” by David Cobb and latter in the Month we learned how to keep our communities safe from our Gun Violence Prevention issue team’s Guest Speaker, Dr. David Mahon, Trauma Director and Critical Care Surgeon at Northwest Community Hospital .   During September we restarted our efforts on ACA as the new signup period for the Healthcare Exchanges is approaching
October is NO surprise to OFA members.  It is the last month before the November 4th Mid Term Elections. Our members and leadership have let us know that this month while they will be attending OFA events, that they are taking their OFA and NWSOFA hats off and at helping their campaigns of choice.

Because of the number of committed folks moving to help the campaigns, NWSOFA Leadership announced some changes in our upcoming formatting,   We are combining issue events and chapter events and greatly reducing our call center days until after the elections.  Each issue team will keep the focus on moving their issues front and center of our local and national politicians.

While our actions on our social issues will be limited we see them showing up big time in the candidates positions on Marriage Equality, ACA Healthcare reform, Climate Change, Minimum Wage, Gun Violence Prevention, Equal Pay for Equal Work for Women, and Comprehensive Immigration Reform.  We encourage everyone to become active in the campaign of your choice and above all:

Vote this November 4th.

Fiscal Group Discussion

It’s time to Act .. It Is Time To Get Involved
Over the years the American Citizens have lost their voices, believing that we can not make a difference.  We have been beat down by the constant droning noise of the conservative right. This onslaught has made us like sheep .. afraid to express our views.  Not anymore!  OFA gives us back our voices and by working together we are making change one issue at a time. Together we can and will make a difference.

Thank You to our NWSOFA Issue Leads in 2013 !!
