Eric Carlson,  OFA’s Midwest Regional Director will outline:

…The 6 Key Social Issues of our Times

2) How many of these Issues are co-dependent on each other

…yet stand alone as a issue cause.

3) The power of a unified Days of Action (DOA) Across the Country.

4) Not just your voice, but a chorus of voices focused and resonating

5) Keeping the OFA Brand Strong and the Organizing alive and well.

This is a crucial time for many of our important issue groups: gun violence prevention, immigration reform, climate change, healthcare, women’s rights, and fiscal and economic issues.

The leaders of these issue teams will present the progress their teams have made and future events scheduled.

Workplace policies too often don’t reflect

today’s realities

Women are currently the main breadwinner in a record-high 40 percent of households, but on everything from paid leave to fair pay, our workplace policies too often don’t reflect today’s realities.
Join our house party hosted by NWSOFA supporters and be part of a conversation about the issues that affect women and working families, and how we can fight to change that.
After the discussion, we’ll decide what action we can take by continuing our Raise the Minimum Wage Petition gathering.

“To coordinate the on-the-ground component, the administration has been participating in biweekly meetings with health care reform groups. One of them, Enroll America, currently has more than 230 staffers across the country, which is just slightly below the 250 it employed at the end of open enrollment. The group has maintained a robust volunteer presence as well. For a Weekend of Action planned for the end of June, the group has registered more than 1,000 volunteer shifts and scheduled just under 400 events. They had averaged the same number of events during weekends in March with about twice as many volunteers.”

“There are two reasons Enroll America hasn’t wound down more during the special enrollment period, said the group’s president, Anne Filipic: to avoid having to train new officials when the next open enrollment period starts, and because it sees ample opportunity to run up the number of insured people in the meantime.”

About NWSOFA

NWSOFA is a whole, diverse wonderful family of people who want to do more than talk about the social issues. We explore and dig deep on the facts and decide what actions we can take that can have an impact locally and nationally. NWSOFA members not only “talk the talk”, but we “walk the walk”.

All our teams have numerous events that will enlighten and inspire you and yes, challenge you to make the effort to make a difference.

We invite you to join us!

It’s time to Act .. It Is Time To Get Involved
Over the years the American Citizens have lost their voices, believing that we can not make a difference.  We have been beat down by the constant droning noise of the conservative right. This onslaught has made us like sheep .. afraid to express our views.  Not anymore!  OFA gives us back our voices and by working together we are making change one issue at a time. Together we can and will make a difference.
