The Illinois legislature will be reconvening in during the critical January “lame duck” session. Time is right for BOLD action to prevent gun violence in Illinois, including not just the assault weapons ban, but also:

How can you help?

1. Please email or call IL Senate President Don Harmon’s office at (708) 848-2002 – ask President Harmon to support the Connecticut Model for gun violence reduction ++ improvements to the Illinois Domestic Violence Act and Firearms Restraining Order law .

2. Please email or call State House Speaker Chris Welch’s office at (708) 450-1000 and ask Speaker Welch to support these same measures.

3. Please call your State Representative and ask them to support these same measures. Don’t know who your rep is? Click here.

Halt The Assault – Digital Day of Action

llinois’ statewide gun violence prevention coalition will be hosting a Halt The Assault Digital Day of Action from to support a bill to ban mass weapons of destruction- assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

PLEASE JOIN US!

  • What: Halt The Assault Digital Day of Action
  • When: Tuesday, Nov 29th, 10am – Noon (CDT)
  • Where: One Aim Illinois Facebook Live
  • Who: One Aim IL, Moms Demand Action, Amnesty International, Brady United and LIVEFREE Illinois & YOU!
  • Why: To ban assault weapons and large capacity magazines in Illinois

We will be streaming live on One Aim Illinois facebook page for two hours as advocates contact their lawmakers by email, phone and social media to demand action to remove these military style weapons from our communities!
