SWW is honored and excited to have special guest Yasmeen Bankole, Candidate for U.S. Representative 8th District speak with us. Yasmeen, daughter of immigrants, grew up in Chicago. Since college she has dedicated herself to public service working with Raja Krishnamoorthi and Dick Durbin.

She is a trustee of Hanover Park where she resides. Yasmeen is a new generation of leaders who can guide us into the future – and having heard Yasmeen – she has energy, a list of accomplishments and positive plans for Dist. 8, Illinois and our nation.

And there will be time to discuss what is on your mind and in your hearts on women and family issues during this difficult time of government shutdown and all that is affected by it, immigrants facing detention and its chaos and heartbreak on families.

Donate food and new/gently used clothing

This month SWW is donating food and new/gently used clothing to POC Partners In Our Community Centers (WWW.POC.news) – Palatine, Schaumburg, Hanover Park – POC has been a generous and influential organization for many years – aiding immigrant families and those in need in our Northwest communities. Besides donating on the website – bring canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, quality jams and preserves, canned tomato products and clothing to our event.
