NWSOFA is hosting a zoom book-club discussion to discuss the acclaimed book, The Persuaders, with fellow members.

We will explore how the insights from the book support our work toward a multiracial, multi ethnic democracy

The Persuaders:

At the Front Lines of the Fight for Hearts, Minds, and Democracy immerses readers in the world of dedicated activists and organizers spanning the nation, all driven by the common goal of expanding the progressive movement without compromising our principles or drifting toward the center. Anand Giridharadas delves deep into the art of addressing threats and injustices while extending a hand to those who may not yet share our views, but potentially could in the future.

The Powering Progress book club series

is being initiated across the country by Indivisible National. Their goals in doing this work include promoting an understanding of the value of an active and inclusive government, fighting back against the Right’s divide and conquer strategy, and supporting Indivisibles in becoming strong messengers to persuadable audiences.

NWSOFA/Indivisible invites you to continue the discussion on the book “The Persuaders” on Tuesday, April 2nd – Zoom format.

In the book “The Persuaders”, ~ the author Anand Giridharadas writes brilliantly about how leaders and everyday Citizen’s are working to change minds, bridge divisions and fight for democracy – through communicating effectively – hear their stories! a perfect book for our times.

Everyone we speak to, whether neighbor, friend, community member or family, carries a slightly different set of values and expectations. In organizing conversations, it’s up to us to listen well and make strategic, thoughtful assessments of how to move our goals forward by taking into account the other person’s responses.

This event continues the discussion of the ideas presented in Anand Giridharadas book, The Persuaders- At the Front Lines of the Fight for Hearts, Minds, and Democracy.
