NWSOFA Indivisible Gun Violence Prevention Team Partner Event: Survivor of Gun Violence Reconciliation Event

Join us for a virtual event, hosted by Willow Creek’s Prison and Jail Ministry at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Since 2016, Willow Creek has hosted an in-person annual event to honor the survivors of gun violence. For the past  four years this memorable event has included survivors and other speakers who are working to end gun violence and also the packing of Healing Gift Bags which have been distributed by survivor, Maria Pike of Chicago Survivors, to survivors in Chicago.

This year’s program will be virtual and will feature Maria Pike and others who will address the issue of gun violence and methods of coming together for reconciliation. The Healing Gift Bags will be packed later by Willow Creek volunteers and distributed by Maria Pike.

Join us as we hear life-changing stories of loss, second chances, and hope!

Gun violence. We hear about the deaths and the shootings, but rarely do we think of the survivors….the moms, the spouses, the families, and even the perpetrators behind each and every lost life. Join us on a journey through loss, reconciliation and restoration as we hear survivor stories from several unique perspectives.

Angel Tree Children Need YOU!
Every child has a story.  For 2.7 million children across our country, that story is often punctuated by loss, sadness, and feelings of abandonment.  Angel Tree, a program sponsored by Prison Fellowship, reaches out to children who have an incarcerated parent to let them know they are remembered by their parent and to offer the hope of Christ.

This year, Angel Tree is going virtual!  You can sponsor a gift package for an individual child and Prison Fellowship will send sponsored gifts directly to Angel Tree kids. Each gift package is $22 and will include a gift card, a personal message from the parent, & an opportunity to receive an age-appropriate Bible.
