NWSOFA Indivisible, GPAD, Ballot Z, and Indivisible IL TWITTERSTORMS Are Back!

February 18, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Twitterstorms are back!
NWSOFA has been working with Maria (GPAD), Gretchen (Ballot Z), Julia, Rose (Indivisible IL) and our very own Twitterstorms team for the upcoming April 6th Local Election.
We’re amping up the conversation to get the progressive / liberal / Democratic voters to turnout!!
NWSOFA covers 6 townships (Hanover, Schaumburg, Elk Grove, Wheeling, Palatine & Barrington) and that includes a lot of partisan and non partisan elections ..
The weekly “Twitterstorms” that we did for the Illinois “VBM” & the “GA-Senate Runoff race” were very successful. So we’re doing them again!
For 2 hours every Thursday night — starting tomorrow Feb 4th and continuing through April 6th and finishing with a flurry of twitter activity in the last 48 hours before the election.
Why? Voter participation for local elections is typically 17% or less. That’s compared to the 71% we just experienced in the last National Presidential election .. and Republicans usually turn out much higher than Democrats for local elections..
We are going to focus on local candidates with generic, Virus Free “Vote By Mail” messages with local hashtags.
The format of the 2 hour Tweetstorm will have candidates dropping in at 30 min intervals for 5 minute meet and greets. We will then tweet & retweet their information — focusing on the local area hashtags .. Once those tweets are out there we’re asking our membership to retweet them to increase our “trend”.
We will have “Hunters” with experience, “Tweeters” tweeting remade tweets with graphics, and “Re-Tweeters” just hitting retweet to drive the “trending” of the tweets. It is easy .. even if you have never tweeted we will spend time getting you signed up and re-tweeting.
Come join us to ACTIVATE Progressive / Liberal & Democratic voters for the April 6th Local elections.
Help spread the word.
Hope you can join us!
Storms will be issue-based with local candidates invited.
