Tim Milburn and Peter Gorr of Sierra Club Illinois will present current climate change issues in Illinois including CEJA (Clean Energy Jobs Act) legislation pending in the state legislature and other state and national actions

Event Issue Focus: Climate

Tentative Agenda:

1. CEJA update (we remain optimistic that something may happen this year if we keep the pressure on)
2. Growing focus on Waste Management (Electricity and Transportation are only a part of the emissions story, the Waste crisis is also an area that needs attention)
3. New national legislation team forming (nice to be able to start to look to federal legislation as part of the overall solution and actively supporting federal legislation will be necessary and a new opportunity for volunteers to get involved)
4. New CLEAN future act…an example of some much needed federal legislation that perhaps this new team will act on.
