NWSOFA Stand with Women Monthly Mtg.
7:00 – 9:00 PM
Arlington Heights Memorial Library
500 N. Dunton 2nd floor Conf Rm “I”
Arlington Heights, IL 60004
You are invited to our Stand with Women monthly meeting.
We will be exploring ways we can highlight issues that are unique to women but impact everyone.
We have been very pleased with the crucial benefits ACA has guaranteed women such as non-discriminatory rates for insurance, free preventive care and reproductive health care, no more exclusion from pre-existing conditions and much more.
Now our national focus is on economic issues including equal pay, raising the minimum wage, family leave, affordable child care. Bring your concerns and creativity and your friends for what is always an inspiring evening.

Illinois can’t wait around for Springfield to act any longer
This past year, renewable energy development essentially came to a halt in our state, with zero new wind projects built, and minimal solar installed.
But fortunately, we can get Illinois back on track by updating our state’s Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) to function in today’s utility market.
So far our elected legislative leaders in Springfield have yet to take action, which is why we’re asking you to call your representative to ask them to fix our state’s renewable energy portfolio standard this spring.
We know that renewable energy does great things for Illinois. Since 2007, Illinois’ Renewable Portfolio Standard has brought the state more than 20,000 clean energy jobs, removed 5 million tons of air pollution each year, and saved consumers $177 million in wholesale electricity costs.
If we want to continue to see this important industry develop in Illinois and bring valuable jobs to our state, we need legislators in Springfield to act.
