Join Indivisible Illinois for a redistricting deep dive virtual discussion.
In a true representative democracy, voters choose their representatives, not the other way around. But through gerrymandering and political manipulation, redistricting has flipped that script.
Join mapmaker and reform advocate Eric DeBellis
This has allowed extremism to grow across the country. Join mapmaker and reform advocate Eric DeBellis for a revealing look at how redistricting got hijacked, why it threatens the core of democratic representation, and what can be done to fix it.
With historical context, real maps, and a clear call to action, this session is your chance to understand, and help change, the rules of the game.

Joining the Team Monday Hour of Action
With Climate Reality Project & Climate Changemakers
Timely, productive, move-the-needle climate action
Recently, Congress passed a brutal budget bill that will end many clean energy incentives that have been helping American homes and businesses cut costs and climate pollution.
With deadlines now looming, The Climate Reality Projedt is partnering with our friends at Climate Changemakers to get the word out and help people across the country use these money-saving incentives before they vanish.
Join the Team Monday Hour of Action — the most productive hour of your week.
You’ll plug into a coordinated, nationwide grassroots effort (especially because this event is in partnership with The Climate Reality Project!)
Here’s how it works:
* A 15-minute, jargon-free briefing
* A roadmap with powerful, easy-to-use resources
* Real advocacy, accomplished together — all within the hour
No prep. No experience. Just show up (seriously, come unprepared!) and see what’s possible when organized advocates have each other’s backs.

“Cultural Civics from a Root Cause Perspective” will be a timely and engaging community conversation that looks at how culture, history, and lived experience shape civic life today. Guiding us will be Bootmoney and Columus Larry—storytellers and educators known for blending insight with a touch of wit. They’ll dive beneath surface issues to uncover the root causes that drive divisions and systemic barriers, keeping the conversation both thoughtful and highly engaging.
Panel of four speakers
panel of four speakers who will add their own perspectives and experiences to the dialogue. Each panelist will provide a unique lens that deepens our understanding of culture and civic engagement. After this exchange, the floor will open for audience questions, creating an interactive space where participants can connect directly with the panel and hosts.
Together we will explore cultural civics through a root‑cause perspective, weaving together the framing of Bootmoney and Larry, the insights of the panel, and the voices of the audience into a dialogue about change and community.

From Illinois to the Nation:
Together-Stop Gun Violence:
Local Voices-National Impact
Join us on Thursday, September 25st for the next meeting of the NWSOFA–Indivisible Gun Violence Prevention Issue Team. This month, we’re proud to bring you an especially powerful program, covering key developments at the local, state, and national levels in the fight to end gun violence
We are honored to welcome Nabeela Syed, Democratic Primary Candidate for Illinois State Senate seat in District 26, as our featured speaker. Key campaign issues for Syed include health care reform (with a focus on reproductive rights, mental health, and insurance coverage), economic relief for working families, stricter gun laws
Our agenda also includes critical updates on the federal withdrawal of funding for Community Violence Interruption programs across the country. These programs, proven to save lives and reduce violence, face new challenges that require advocacy and collective action. We’ll discuss what this means for our local communities and how we can respond. We are excited to announce a new partnership between NWSOFA’s Gun Violence Prevention team and Guns Down America. This collaboration will help us amplify our voice on the national stage, strengthen grassroots efforts, and push for impactful reforms that prioritize safety and well-being. Together, we’re building momentum for a safer future.
