We again have IndivisiGather Funds to help defer the cost although we will have a donation jar for whatever you can spare .. note beer and pizza is half price on Tuesday’s

The conversation will take place at our reserved tables inside at the rear of the restaurant. And yes—there will be plenty of pizza to share as we brainstorm, connect, and organize.

Now more than ever, it’s critical for Democrats and all who oppose authoritarian overreach to hold the line. By showing up, speaking out, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder, we send a clear message: our healthcare, freedoms, and democratic values are not bargaining chips. This is a time for sharing ideas, rallying our community, and uniting in the fight for a government that truly serves the people.

Vision Forward 2.0

“Disinformation Has Changed. So Has Our Role”

Wednesday, May 13@7pm Central / 8pm Eastern = ZOOM

Our Presenter is Adrienne Gulyassy

Vision Forward 2.0 Program Leader: Dr. Chris Welde

_Disinformation looks different today than it did even a few years ago. Adrienne explores what’s changed, what hasn’t, and how the information environment shapes the way narratives spread and take hold._

Examining shifts in trust, media ecosystems, and human psychology, she looks beyond fact-checking and debate to the communication dynamics influencing civic life — from digital spaces to community conversations.

A grounded, civic-facing presentation designed to orient, reassure, and empower people navigating an increasingly complex information landscape.

Adrienne Gulyassy is a disinformation researcher and civic engagement strategist with a background in activism and bridge-building across political differences. She has worked with Common Cause, the Civic Listening Corps, and the Indivisible Truth Brigade, and now designs relational, community-based programs to strengthen dialogue, trust, and resilience in today’s complex information environment.

Vision Forward 2.0 is a coordinated set of programs designed to help volunteers, community members, and pro-democracy conversational activists communicate clearly, calmly, and persuasively about democracy—especially in moments of confusion, misinformation, or division. These programs are practical, skills‑based, and grounded in real conversations happening in our communities right now.

_This session is the 2nd in the Misinformation/Truth Sandwich series._

“Sorting the Firehose of Information”

THURSDAY 5/14 @5:00 Central / 6pm Eastern – ZOOM

Sorting Soup is our weekly gathering where we make sense of the “firehose of information” — serving up news, court cases, and cultural sparks to find the truth (and maybe a little humor) in the mix.

Thursdays @5PM — we ladle out the week’s headlines, taste-test the facts, and stir up action steps for change.

At the heart of Sorting Soup is the belief that Self‑Care is Radical Resistance — because even revolutions need nourishment.

Like the story of Stone Soup, everyone brings something to the pot: knowledge, curiosity, and the courage to show up.

Phone Bank to Help Elect Progressive Candidates to the

Georgia Supreme Court

Saturday, May 17th @4pm Central / 5 pm Eastern

There is a monumental Supreme Court election happening in Georgia. There are 2 progressive candidates that are running against 2 of the right-wing incumbents who reinstated Georgia’s 6-week abortion ban.

In these times, the judiciary has worked to both save democracy and stifle democracy. We know the importance of getting judges in place that reflect progressive values. This is especially true with state Supreme Courts. (Look at what is happening in Virginia currently. The state Supreme Court has put a hold on Redistricting after the people in the state voted for it.)

The Georgia Supreme Court candidates are: Miracle Rankin, a former president of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and former Democratic state Sen. Jen Jordan. They have been endorsed by Planned Parenthood, and are supported by the Georgia Democratic party.

Special Petition on Global X

Global X, is also used by ICE and CBP

The charter airline that the university uses to transport their football team, and both the women’s and men’s basketball teams, Global X, is also used by ICE and CBP to transport them and the immigrants in their custody. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign also has contracts with other corporations that contract with ICE and CBP.

A consortium of some of unions that represent UIUC employees are trying to push the administration to cancel their contrats with these companies, and also asking that the administration enact policies to keep students/faculty/staff safe. There is more info in the text of the petition:
