Join us, Indivisible Illinois Social Justice Alliance, at Noon on Zoom – Saturday, October 1, 2022, as we listen, learn and elevate the voices of gun violence survivors who are part of a non-profit organization that “seeks to provide support and encouragement for survivors of violence through health and wellness.”
Our speaker will be Bertha Purnell, Founder and CEO of MothersOnAMission28, the non-profit organization she started after the murder of her youngest son, Maurice in 2017. Bertha will share her story and also tell us about the work that she is doing with Nature 120 and as the Chapter Coordinator for Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice, an organization located on the Westside of Chicago. In addition, Bertha is involved with helping to pass bereavement legislation for gun violence survivors, works closely with Moms Demand Action and with a pledge to vote campaign.
