Anthony D. Douglas II, MD, General Surgery PGY-2R, Surgical Advocacy Fellow, University of Chicago Department of Surgery will be the principal speaker, addressing the impactful RIFL bill currently gaining attention in the Illinois State Legislature. This proposed legislation would require gun manufacturers to fund support for victims and survivors of gun violence.
Dr. Douglas brings a wealth of expertise and passion to this critical issue, making this session an invaluable opportunity to learn more about legislative efforts to hold gun manufacturers accountable.
Following his presentation, attendees can engage in a Q&A session to ask questions and share perspectives.
Co-Leads Natalie Warren and Cathy Risberg will also provide updates on local state legislative efforts and discuss ways for participants to get involved. As time allows, the meeting will touch on other Illinois gun violence prevention bills likely to be introduced this session.
