NWSOFA Indivisible, GPAD, Ballot Z, and Indivisible IL TWITTERSTORMS Are Back!
April 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Twitterstorms are back!
This Thursday “A Call to Action” at 6 pm – Help us Activate Voters for the upcoming April 6th Local Elections using the newest “TwitterStorms” to get the word out on Candidates we support.
Why? Voter participation for local elections is typically 17% or less. That’s compared to the 71% we just experienced in the last National Presidential election.. to win at the local level we need to adding increase local election by 3-4% from liberal / progressive / Democratic voters ..
TwitterStorms are the newest was to get the word out .. to Activate Voters who otherwise are “unaware” of the importance of local elections.
NorthWest Suburbs OFA (NWSOFA), BallotZ & Indivisible Illinois are providing the TwitterStorm Tools for the upcoming April 6th Local Election.
NWSOFA covers 6 townships (Hanover, Schaumburg, Elk Grove, Wheeling, Palatine & Barring-ton) and that includes a lot of partisan and non partisan elections ..
The format of the 2 hour Twittstorm will have candidates dropping in at 30 min intervals for 5 minute meet and greets. We will then tweet & retweet their information — focusing on the local area hashtags ..
Wondering who those candidates are? .. for a list in the NWSOFA 6 township area .. click here www.nwsofa.org/vote ..
Once those tweets are out there we’re asking our membership to retweet them to increase our “trend”. We will have “Hunters” with experience, “Tweeters” tweeting pre-made tweets with graphics, and “Re-Tweeters” just hitting retweet to drive the “trending” of the tweets.
It is easy .. even if you have never tweeted .. we will spend time getting you signed up and re-tweeting.
Results .. for the first three (3) weeks our over 700 Thursday night tweets have reached over 99,000 with over 300,000 impressions .. That’s simply AMAZING..
Come join us to ACTIVATE Progressive / Liberal & Democratic voters for the April 6th Local elections.
Help spread the word.
Hope you can join us!
